Book the Companie
Over the years we have held events at various beautiful historic properties and often return to our favourites to play again. However, we are always on the look out to visit new places so if you would like to talk to us about a possible future event, please get in touch.
We specialise in weekend events to bring your historical property to life. We tailor to individual needs, so please contact us for a price.
Past events
The Companie has established a reputation as good value for English Heritage and various privately and council owned historic properties. Sites we have performed at include Lyddington Bede House, Castle Acre Priory, Lincoln Bishop's Palace and Stokesay Castle. We also appear regularly at Colchester Oyster Fayre and Kentwell Hall.
We have done an annual week long event at Sulgrave Manor, the ancestral home of George Washington's forefathers. The event at Sulgrave includes education programs for school children to watch and opportunities for them to take part in the tasks of running a Tudor household.
We have also been lucky enough to be invited to Portsmouth Naval dockyards to do experimental cooking on a recreated Tudor galley from the Mary Rose.
Our members have also been involved in TV and film work as extras and provided historical props for productions.
Testimonials
"A play performed by Melford Hys Companie is better than a hanging anyday!" G. Chaucer
"Best day out since the Spanish Armada" Queen Betty
